Flowers After Dark
Flowers After Dark is a series of evocative close-up portraits of flowers, especially roses, that express both my romantic vision and my desire to share it. Backlit by intense, hot lights penetrating through colored vases, the flowers became nearly transparent, absorbing the colors projected through them and developing an almost glass-like quality themselves. I magnified and exposed what the eye ordinarily cannot see, transforming the flowers and giving them a larger-than-life quality.
